Repair can make sense when…
- The phone is fairly recent.
- The repair cost is sensible.
- It still gets security updates.
- You are happy with the camera, storage and speed.
- The rest of the phone is reliable.
Replacement may be better when…
- The phone no longer gets important updates.
- Several things are going wrong at once.
- The battery, screen and storage are all causing trouble.
- Repair costs are close to replacement cost.
Back up before either choice
Before repair or replacement, make sure photos, contacts and messages are backed up. This matters even if you think the repair is simple.
